SCHOOL TRIP TO ROME

Here we are, at the Coliseum in Rome, the lucky students and teachers who could enjoy the great school trip two weeks ago. It was fantastic, since Rome is a perfect destination with plenty of interesting places to visit.
When we arrived in Rome, after dinner, we took a guided tour called Rome by night, beginning with a sightseeing tour of the most important monuments, and then walking to the famous Fontana di Trevi, which is really amazing at night, Piazza Navona, where we could try the typical Tartufo ice-cream, the Pantheon, which is the best conserved Roman temple, built in the second century, etc.
The next day we met our guide for the rest of the trip, a really wise woman called Silvia, and we took another sightseeing tour, this time in daylight, with a stop at Circus Maximus to take a picture. Then we had lunch in a restaurant near the Coliseum, where we could eat the typical Roman pizza. After lunch we had tickets to enter the Coliseum and the Roman Forum, and we had such an overdose of history.

The second day we came back to some of the places we visited the first night, but now in daylight, such as Fontana di Trevi (we threw the coin into the fountain to ensure our return to Rome), Piazza Navona, ... We came into the Pantheon, a magnificent building, and we went to Piazza Spagna and walked through the most historical streets.

In the afternoon, we went to the Vatican, where we got really impressed by the huge amount of works of art which are kept there. Luckily we had the guide Silvia to make us focus on the most important works, including the Sistine Chapel.

On Wednesday we took the tour called Christian Rome, which included the visit to two spectacular churches, the Moises, the famous sculpture by Miguel Angel, and a catacomb, where some students and teachers got claustrophobia. Then we said goodbye to Silvia, our wonderful guide, and we went to the Castel Sant'Angelo, to enjoy the great views of Rome from the top.

Mes félicitations à la Compagnie Herbe d'Or!
